Premier Steven Marshall visits McGilp Oval
Published on September 2020
Pre COVID-19 it was great to have the Premier visit the One Tree Hill Cricket club at McGilp Oval. It’s with great excitement to share that key areas of concern raised by residents about the current state of McGilp Oval are a step closer to being addressed as Playford Council has concluded a review of the precinct.
I am a staunch supporter of improvements being considered to the oval space which houses the One Tree Hill cricket, soccer and tennis clubs. Issues often raised are the lack of senior sized oval for the soccer and cricket clubs, as well as change rooms, drainage and car parking concerns.
I have met with Playford Council staff to discuss the recommendations of the review and now I am advocating alongside the Clubs and the One Tree Hill Sports Association to get support from Playford Council to submit applications to the State and Federal Government Grants programs so together we can achieve our local community ambitions.
The One Tree Hill Sports Association do such a great job to provide recreational activities for the local community and we need to see adequate facilities which will mirror this community service. This is why passing on your feedback is so crucially important.
We’ve been able to formalise the conversation and ensure that decision makers are fully aware of the community’s desires. I take my role as your elected member extremely seriously and I will continue to fight for what is most important to you in our local area.
