Golden Grove Road Upgrade Project – Stage One – Project update notification – September 2020
The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (the Department) wishes to provide the following update regarding Stage One works of the Golden Grove Road Upgrade Project.
Kunzea Way to Hancock Road (including roundabout at Golden Grove Road and Hancock Road)
The newly constructed roundabout at the intersection of Hancock Road and Golden Grove Road was opened to traffic under traffic management on Friday, 24 July 2020.
Completed works between Kunzea Way and Hancock Road were opened to traffic on Thursday, 13 August 2020.
The new footpath along the western side of Golden Grove Road between Kunzea Way and Einstein Drive is complete and open to pedestrians.
In other areas with ongoing footpath works, pedestrian detours and path closures are in place. In the interest of safety, pedestrians are advised to follow directional signage and advised not to enter fenced off areas under construction while these important works are undertaken (Refer: Golden Grove Road Upgrade Project – Stage One: Bus Stop & Pedestrian Access Map).
New street lighting along Golden Grove Road between Kunzea Way and Hancock Road was operational late July 2020. The new light-emitting diode (LED) lights will improve visibility and safety for road users and pedestrians.
Stage One works ongoing
Construction works including drainage, earthworks, footpaths and new street lighting installation are continuing along Golden Grove Road between Hancock Road and One Tree Hill Road.
Bus stop 54 and 55 are fully operational.
Bus stop 56 has been relocated and is currently under construction. Bus stop 56 will remain closed until early November 2020, when works are expected to be completed, weather permitting.
Bus stop 80 is subject to temporary movement whilst construction works are being undertaken in the area.
All other bus stops within the vicinity of the construction area will remain open (Refer: Golden Grove Road Upgrade Project – Stage One: Bus Stop & Pedestrian Access Map).

Property and business access
Access to local businesses and residences in the area will be maintained at all times. Advance notice will be provided if there is a need to temporarily restrict driveway access.
Please note that during construction works, businesses will remain open along Golden Grove Road, Hancock Road, Greenwith Road and other local side streets.
Please continue to support the local businesses.
Sections of Golden Grove Road and Hancock Road, within the project construction site, will remain open to traffic with a 25 km/h speed restriction in place while workers are on site.
Please take extra care when workers are on site. Observe speed limits, lane restrictions and traffic controllers when travelling through the area.
Lane closures and other speed restrictions may apply, subject to on site conditions.
